CE Marking of Metallic Structures
UNE-EN 1090-1:2011+A1:2012
We help you with the CE Marking of Metallic Structures
Nucleonova, thanks to its experience and multidisciplinary knowledge in the steel transformation sector, provides metal structure companies with specialized Consulting, Assistance and Quality Assurance services associated with the correct implementation and maintenance of the CE marking in activities manufacturing of structural steel and aluminum components according to UNE-EN 1090-1:2011+A1:2012
Why is the UNE-EN 1090-1:2011+A1:2012 Standard important for your company?
Since July 1, 2014, it is mandatory for the commercialization within the European Union that metal structures bear their CE marking, issued by the manufacturer. The steel and aluminum structures that are built under the harmonized standard UNE-EN 1090-1:2011+A1:2012 carry the CE mark. The CE marking ensures compliance with the quality controls established in the UNE-EN 1090-2:2019 and UNE-EN 1090-3:2011 standards and that there is a welding Coordinator with the capacity to control the processes.
The figure of the Soldeo coordinator
The figure of the welding coordinator is essential to achieve certification in UNE-EN 1090-1:2011+A1:2012 and to be able to CE mark the structures.
The welding coordinator supports the company in consulting for the implementation of the standard and is present in all audits. The auditor responsible for the certification audits the technical capacities of the welding coordinator to verify if it is adequate to the standard.
The welding coordinator helps the company during manufacturing to avoid problems and provides technical support in terms of welding processes, welder approvals, filler materials, etc... Providing his experience.
Scope of the standard
The harmonized standard UNE-EN 1090-1:2011+A1:2012 includes in its scope of application steel and aluminum structures that are permanently incorporated and support loads. These are structural elements that together with other elements constitute the final supporting structure that will satisfy the intended use of the structure. This implies that it covers a large number of possible structures and components in various fields. The rule affects:
Fabricated structures
Structures manufactured in a workshop made of steel or aluminum. Works carried out on site that will be affected by other regulations are excluded.
Structures for civil works
Structures intended to be permanently incorporated into a civil work or building. Scaffolding or movable elements are excluded.
Load structures
Structures intended to support load. The person responsible for the conformity of the product is always the manufacturing company, regardless of who has made the design.
Requirements for the implementation of the UNE-EN 1090 Standard
The UNE-EN 1090-1:2011+A1:2012 Standard establishes the necessary requirements to be able to issue the CE marking for steel and aluminum structures.
A certifying company must audit the Factory Production Control system.
Have welding procedures and welders approved
Have a Welding Coordinator with the necessary training according to UNE EN ISO 14731:2019
Implement a production control system with a structure similar to ISO 9001.
Implementation consultancy
Nucleonova offers the consultancy service for the implementation of factory production control and the welding coordination necessary to achieve certification and be able to mark CE the metallic structures they manufacture.
We have professionals with experience in system implementation, both in large companies with a prior control system for their adaptation to the standard, and in companies that do not have any type of system to create it from scratch.
